Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Propcott and how it works
Joining & Taking Action
I'm not a customer—does my pledge matter?
Yes. Targets live on new customer acquisition. Your pledge not to start reduces future conversions and slows growth—real leverage.
What if I can't fully cancel (family plan, employer account, contract)?
Choose the strongest action you can: pause, downgrade, switch, or don't start. It still counts.
What exactly am I pledging to do?
Follow the campaign checklist (e.g., cancel/pause/switch/avoid). Complete the listed steps within the campaign's guidance.
Can I change or withdraw my pledge?
No. Pledges are final. This preserves campaign integrity and prevents counter manipulation.
Can I join multiple campaigns?
Yes—but focus works. Prioritize the campaigns you'll actually complete.
Metrics & Methodology
What does the counter measure?
A conservative range of potential revenue/users at risk from both cancellations and non-conversions (pledges not to start).
Are these audited numbers?
No. They're estimates with disclosed assumptions. We publish how figures are derived.
How do you estimate amounts without detailed plan data?
We use public pricing benchmarks and conservative assumptions. As better data becomes available, we may refine estimates.
Won't companies just replace lost users with new ones?
That's why Propcott includes non-customers: non-conversion pledges block replacement and bend the growth curve down.
Do counters run forever?
Counters reflect the campaign's stated scope. Future actions outside the scope aren't included unless specified.
Conduct & Moderation
Is using Propcott legal?
Yes. We coordinate lawful spending choices only. No harassment, threats, or doxxing—ever.
What content is prohibited?
Hate, harassment, incitement, doxxing, defamation, deceptive claims, spam, and unlawful fundraising are not allowed.
What happens if a campaign breaks the rules?
Propcott may label, limit, or remove content/campaigns and suspend accounts that create risk or violate policies.
Privacy & Data
What personal data do you collect?
The minimum needed to run your account and pledge. See the Privacy Policy for storage, retention, and deletion details.
Will my pledge be public?
Counters are public; personally identifying information is not unless you choose to make it public (e.g., as an organizer).
Can I delete my data?
Yes—you can request account/data deletion through the channels listed in our Privacy Policy.
Creators & Organizers
Who can create a campaign?
Adults (18+) who agree to the Creator Terms, including accuracy, lawful conduct, reachable contact, and timely updates when targets respond.
Do creators have to be available for outreach?
Yes. Creators must maintain reachable email/phone and respond within 2 business days to relevant inquiries.
What makes a strong campaign?
One clear target and goal, simple action steps, credible sources, and a plan for updates—even if the campaign is ongoing.
Targets, Press & Responses
What if the target replies?
Creators should post a summary promptly and state whether the response addresses the campaign's goal, plus next steps.
Can a target dispute a campaign?
Yes. We relay statements and encourage evidence-based updates from creators. Campaign pages can reflect the target's response.
How do journalists cite Propcott data?
Link the campaign page and methodology. Counters are estimates with disclosed assumptions.
Donations & Support
Is Propcott free to use?
Yes. Donations help cover servers, security, moderation, and improvements (generally not tax-deductible).
Where do donations go?
Platform operations and feature development. We don't sell supporter data.
How else can I help?
Complete the checklist, share with two friends, and consider becoming a creator to launch responsible campaigns.
